Rillo - il melone giallo

The first market tests have given an excellent feedback and indicated high customer satisfaction. With the Rillo melon, we have succeeded in differentiating our offer for the domestic and foreign markets

Rillo, our hallmark

Angelo Condoluci is one of the lovers of this special fruit who decided to invest in the canary melon by launching his own brand, Rillo, on the market in 2010.
Rillo is the hallmark of the canary melon grown by Unifruit. The product is unique and recognisable thanks to its wrinkled charm, the bright yellow colour of the skin and a crunchy core with an unmistakable taste and aroma.
It can be eaten on its own or it can be used as an ingredient to bring tasty canary melon recipes to the table but, in any case, Rillo is the “name” to look for in order to enjoy the best melons.
The canary melon is also an excellent refresher, its high water content stimulates diuresis, it promotes intestinal motility and its fibre-rich pulp encourages the proper functioning of the intestine.

Origins of the melon

The scientific name for the melon is 'Cucumis melo' and, more specifically, the canary melon (also known as winter melon) belongs to the "inodorus" group of this species. Its origins are ancient and still unknown: it is not known whether it is of Asian or African origin.
What is certain, however, is that in ancient times, the melon was considered a symbol of prosperity and fertility, and that today it is very popular and widespread all over the world because of its characteristics and properties.

Properties of melons

A natural source of energy thanks to its high content of natural sugars, it provides the body with a large supply of vitamins A, B, C and minerals (such as iron, calcium, magnesium and potassium), but not only.
The canary melon is also an excellent refresher, its high water content stimulates diuresis, it promotes intestinal motility and its fibre-rich pulp encourages the proper functioning of the intestine.
